How to play Arrow Sudoku

Try Arrow Sudoku at your own pace and keep its objective in view. Solve the Sudoku and make the digits on each arrow path sum to the digit in its circle. Look at what changes after your first action. Compare the starting position with the example in the Guide. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

This collection contains 8 puzzles. Progress is saved in this browser. The same puzzle can appear again; the collection is not labelled with calibrated difficulty levels.

Build a steady rhythm

Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round. Make the next step deliberately.

Your goal

Solve the Sudoku and make the digits on each arrow path sum to the digit in its circle. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Start with a deliberate move.

Step by step

1. Select an editable cell.
2. Enter a value using the keypad or keyboard; Notes stores candidates.
3. Read the region, cage, arrow or outside clues alongside the normal constraints.
4. Check entries verifies the completed board; Undo reverses your last input.
5. New puzzle selects another included puzzle.

Controls

Click or tap cells and the digit pad. Use Notes, Undo and Reveal selected. Large boards scroll inside the game. Use the control method described here for this activity. Make sure you are interacting with the game rather than the surrounding page.

A useful example

A circle 7 may have an arrow containing 3 and 4 when the normal Sudoku rules also allow it. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Look for the relevant detail.

Watch out for this

A full board must obey every extra rule. Reveal supplies assistance; it is not an earned deduction. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use.
