How to play Bowling

Use a short break to learn the rhythm of Bowling. Complete ten frames and maximise the score. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions. Begin with the solo mode shown on the page. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.

Play ten frames using a two-dimensional bowling lane. Strikes, spares and bonus rolls count towards the total.

Make the controls familiar

Locate the buttons and input area before beginning a long round. Use the on-screen labels to avoid an accidental restart. Refer to the controls when needed.

Your goal

Complete ten frames and maximise the score. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Return to the instructions when a step is unclear.

Step by step

1. Set lane position and power.
2. Roll into the rack.
3. A strike ends a normal frame; otherwise roll again.
4. The tenth can earn bonus rolls.

Lane-position/power sliders and Roll ball. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. Use the visible help when you are unsure of the next input.

A useful example

A strike followed by 4 and 5 scores 19; a spare followed by 7 scores 17. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Verify the rule before continuing.
